ABOUT ME

Children often attempt to emulate the superheroes they watch on TV. One such hero from my childhood was Captain Planet. From the show, I gained an initial interest in energy and environmental stewardship. This interest continues through my pursuit of a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Focus: Energy & Environmental Sustainability).

I am pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) researching issues involving energy and environmental sustainability as a member of the Institute for Environmental Science and Policy (IESP). Under Dr. Thomas L. Theis, Director of IESP, I explore climate change and social identity as it relates to the food-energy-water nexus. This research is intended to facilitate more effective climate change and food policy measures.
